Elbow pain

Elbow pain can have various causes, ranging from minor injuries to chronic conditions. Common reasons include:

1.Overuse or Repetitive Strain:

Tennis Elbow (Lateral Epicondylitis): 

Pain on the outer part of the elbow due to repetitive wrist and arm movements.

Golfer’s Elbow (Medial Epicondylitis):

Pain on the inner side of the elbow caused by repetitive gripping or wrist flexion.

2.Injuries:

Sprains or Strains:

Damage to muscles, tendons, or ligaments around the elbow.


Fractures:

Broken bones in the elbow joint due to trauma.


Dislocations:

The bones of the elbow joint move out of alignment.

3.Arthritis:

Osteoarthritis:

Wear-and-tear damage to the cartilage in the elbow.

Rheumatoid Arthritis:

An autoimmune condition causing joint inflammation.

4.Nerve Compression:

Cubital Tunnel Syndrome:

Compression of the ulnar nerve (funny bone) causing tingling, numbness, and pain.

Radial Tunnel Syndrome:

Compression of the radial nerve leading to pain in the forearm and elbow.

 Olecranon Bursitis:

Inflammation of the bursa (fluid-filled sac) at the back of the elbow, often caused by repetitive pressure or trauma.

6.Tendinitis or Tendinopathy:

Inflammation or degeneration of tendons due to overuse or strain.

 7.Infections:

Infections in or around the elbow joint can cause swelling, redness, and pain.

8.Other Causes:

Gout or Pseudogout:

Crystals depositing in the elbow joint leading to inflammation.

Referred Pain:

Pain from shoulder or neck issues radiating to the elbow.

Ligament Tears:

Particularly the ulnar collateral ligament in athletes like baseball players.
